Staph boils are caused due to bacteria staphylococcus aureus. This bacterium is present in most of the people, but does not harm them until the skin gets a scar or a cut. When your skin gets punctured, the staph bacteria enter the cut and cause infections which can cause severe skin infections. Here are a few staph boil remedies that will help you to get cured from skin infection.
Regular washing your hands and bathing twice a day will keep your skin away from all types of infection. A boil is an infection in which the skin turns red in color and swells with pus filled inside it. After a few days, the infected area turns hard, tender and firm, while the center part of the boil becomes soft as it gets filled with infection fighting white blood cells. These white blood cells are known as pus which is the head of the boil. This pus has to be drained out with the help of a doctor or surgery can remove the boil from its root. Surgery is only done when the boil enters the deeper skin and causes lot of pain. Staph Boils Remedies There are various remedies for removing boils. You can use heat and moisture to get rid of boils. You can soak the boil in hot or warm water. This process will lower your pain and might also remove pus from the boil. Applying a damp or warm compress to skin for 25 to 30 minutes; 4 to 5 times a day will help the boil to vanish. Once the entire pus from the boil comes out and the boil goes, wash the infected area with any antibacterial soap or apply iodine lotion to it. This will block the bacteria entering the fresh cuts which might cause more infection. Surgery If your boil is of a smaller size, most of the doctors will recommend you for taking antibiotics. Antibiotics will help to reduce the infection and will treat the infected area. If the boil is large, mushy and soft to touch, then it should be punctured. These boils will not go away till you puncture it and remove pus from it. Consult your doctor and let him/her treat your skin infection. Do not try to puncture the boil with your own hands or with any needle like thing. This will spread the infection to other parts of the skin and your infection will increase.
Doctors will take care of removing the pus without infecting the other skin area. Your doctor will give you local anesthesia near the boil infected skin, so that you won't feel pain. A cut is made into the boil by using sterile q-tips to eradicate the pus. After removing the pus, the doctor will pack the wound, so that the entire excess pus gets absorbed in the pack and it does not infect the other skin area. Bacterial Culture Even after the surgery, the boils keep on occurring and then you need to do a bacterial culture. A bacterial culture is taken from the nose with the help of a cotton swab. With this culture, the doctor can examine whether the boils are caused by staphylococcus aureus. If the staph bacteria are present in it, then the doctor will start with an antibiotic course which will help you to stay away from staph skin infections. Other Remedies:
