Groin boils are caused due to inflammation of hair follicles. The groin boils are the lumps which are filled with pus. These boils cause high fever and unbearable pain. In few cases, the pain becomes so severe that the individual cannot walk. To avoid any further groin boil infection, it is suggested to consult a doctor immediately. There are some symptoms of groin boils which are discussed below. Causes of Groin Boils
Swelling, inflammation, heat generation and pain are the responses given by the immune system to the foreign attack. The formation of abscess takes place on the skin surface of the groin region. In worst cases where the complexity increases, the pus can come in contact with the brain, kidneys, lungs and other important organs of the body. Most of the people who suffer from groin boils are caused due to the disease known as MRSA. The disease is caused due to the development of resistance of bacteria which causes skin abscesses and boils towards the antibiotics taken while treating skin infections The other cause for the reoccurrence of boil in the groin area is Hidradenitis suppurativa. This skin disease is rare and the exact reason is still unidentified. This disease can only be cured by removing the oil gland or the sweat gland through surgery. The folded areas of the body like groin, armpits and buttocks are the most affected boil areas. Symptoms of Groin Boils The boils located in the groin area are similar to the boils on the skin of other parts of the body. At the initial stage, they first come as a reddened pink area and later develop into a boil containing nodule which grows in size and is quiet painful. This nodule grows up to a size of 6 to 10 centimeters in diameter within a few days. The person might get high fever and unbearable pain after the development of the groin boils. The boil then develops pus inside it and later the pus might turn into a big lump which is harmful for the human body. Pus is contagious as it contains white blood cells, bacteria, proteins and dead tissues. Other Symptoms
