Treating Facial Boils
Since your face play an important part in your beauty enhancement, boils developing on the face should be treated with great care so that you can easily get rid of the boils without leaving a trace. The following are the steps that can help you to deal with the boils effectively.
- Do not ever try to squeeze boils especially, if it happens to be occurring on the face. Facial boils are highly contagious in nature and if they are squeezed, the pus coming out of the boil may infect other skin areas resulting the development of more number of boils in various parts of the face. Even at times, due to excessive squeezing the pus of the boil can sometimes get in touch with the lower layers of the skin and infect them to cause septic, which requires immediate medical supervision. So, leave the boils untouched and allow it to heal on its own or apply some mild topical ointments to bring relief to the pain and inflammation.
Visiting a surgeon is perhaps the last but one of the most effective options left for you in case you find that you are suffering from facial boils for a continued period of time.
- Useful home remedies are also quite useful in treating boils on face. Sometimes you will find that boils occurring on your face as a big red lump full but have not formed a head from where the pus can flow out. Epsom salt can be quite useful in forming heads of the face boils. All you need to do is to fill up your bathroom sink with hot water and stir by adding Epsom salt. Then immerse a white clean cloth and completely saturate it in the water. Then apply it on the infected boil area as a hot compress. This would help to form the head of the boil easily. Make sure of applying the compress very gently and do not try to press it too hard against your face boil.
To get good result you are recommended to carry out with the Epsom salt compression at least 3 times a day. Within days you will find that the boil has got matured with a head and ultimately releasing the pus. After the pus gets drained out cover the wound with a medicated Band-Aid along with antiseptic ointments.
- Take great care while handling with the pus. As you know that the pus is very contagious in nature consisting of bacteria, white blood cells, protein elements and dead skin, you are recommended to keep the infected boil area to be clean. Gently rinse the area of the boils when it discharges pus and blood. Cover the boil with a medicated ointment to avoid incidence of septic. Some boils are quite big in size and requires few days to dry up after discharging the entire pus content. You should be patient enough to keep the boils clean and germ free on a regular basis until the boil vanishes completely from the skin surface.
- During the time of drainage of the pus, not only your uncontaminated skin areas but also the skin of your family members staying with you is also vulnerable to the attack of boils. To save your family from the boils attack, always wash your garments, bed linens and such in hot water daily. Wash your face at regular intervals with antiseptic soaps and then apply antiseptic lotions. Do not allow your children to get them close to you until you are completely cured from the boils infection.
